This is a 7"x5" Fairy trinket box. The box is Maple with Oak as the background. The Fairy's skin and hair are maple, the wings are poplar, and the dress is paduak. The entire box was made by hand (well, ok, I use power tools, but no computers) and the inlay was cut by hand using a scroll-saw. The lid is attached with brass hinges, mortised into the sides for a smooth, evenly-closing lid. The finish is polyurethane, rubbed out to a smooth satin feel.
