There is more to this box than immediately meets the eye. The unique patented hinge system allows the cleat on the underside of the lid to engage a groove cut in the inside of the front member of the box. The box, once it is closed cannot be opened until the back of the lid is lifted and it is then pulled away from the front. To close the lid one merely lets the lid fall forward and then slides it forward until it closes
