This custom “One of a Kind” Humidor is made from Honduras Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla). Often named after the country it came from (i.e. Brazilian Mahogany, Peruvian Mahogany, etc.). Mahogany is scattered areas throughout central and South America including some Caribbean islands. The species is secure in El Salvador and Honduras, but it has become endangered or extinct in some regions of South America. Honduras mahogany trees once had a distribution covering most of South America. Supply of the wood is still plentiful thanks in part to plantation harvesting, where trees reaching heights of 150' with trunk diameters as large as 6'. The wood is strong and dense and has been used to make some of the finest furniture in the world. Mahogany stands for quality. The popular Chris Craft wooden boats were built from mahogany until the early 1960 when it was replaced by fiberglass. This Chest was build so the grain "wraps" around the Chest and matches on all four corners, matching three is easy, but matching four takes some woodworking skill. The inlays are Mahogany and Maple. This is a unique "One-of-a-Kind Humidor" signed and dated. Airtight lid will not "bang" when closed. All my Humidors get 6 to 8 coats of polyurethane oil finish that is "Hand Rubbed" to give them the best finish possible. Humidor completely lined with Spanish cedar. Dividers slide in grooves to make size adjustments easy and secure. Lift out tray. Only first quality, solid brass hinges and stays are used. This is a medium size humidor and will hold 30 to 40 cigars. Comes complete with a custom Humidifier and Hygrometer and a five page manual that covers how to set-up and care for your new Humidor.

Every item is made one at a time. The craftsmanship is more important than the cost..... what you buy today reflects your appreciation of quality and value for a life time.
Every Humidor that I build is built one at a time by me. There is no other person to build, sand, finish or ship but me. I control the Quality from selecting the wood to shipping. Something that I am very proud of. Every Humidor is made from selected solid stock, I use very little veneer and state so if I do. Every color you see is natural, I use no stains or dyes. This is what you will get if you own one of my Humidors.

Every thing I make gets a "Hand Rubbed Oil Finish". Between 5 to 8 coats. This is a blend of five oils that provides the best finish possible. The finish was developed for the marine environment. The base is polyurethane. This is the same finish I use on my fine Antiques. I developed the finish while I was Quality Assurance Manager with Hatteras Yachts. That was between 1965 to 1988."
