A unique corporate gift idea for the stogie smoker.
Custom-made "One of a Kind" Humidor is made from Pau Amerillo, a wood from Mexico. This wood is naturally "Yellow" in color and ranges from a light yellow to a lemon yellow. This wood is fun to turn and takes a good finish. Most people have never seen this wood and think it's dyed. The center piece in top is a "Book matched" piece of Canarywood. The inlay in face is Canarywood with a piece of Ebony in center. Canarywood, (Centrolobium spp, family: Leguminosae) from Panama to southern Brazil. Yellow to orange in color, typically variegated with light to dark red streaking. It has a medium to high luster. It can be somewhat variable in density; it is mostly a hard, heavy and strong wood. Works very easily with both hand and power tools and finishes very smoothly. This is an exceptional exotic wood from Africa. Uses: Boat building, turnery, decorative veneers, cooperage, furniture, cabinetry, and custom treasure boxes of all kinds. Canarywood is my favorite wood to work with, it's easy to machine with all tools, finishing very smoothly but attention must be paid to sanding to get the smooth finish that shows up the beauty of this wood. This Chest was build so the grain "wraps" around the Chest and matches on all four corners, matching three is easy, but matching four took me a long time to figure out. Completely lined with Spanish Cedar. Dividers slide in grooves to make size adjustments easy and secure. Only first quality, solid brass hinges are used. This is a medium size humidor and has a full lift out tray with storage in the bottom and will hold 25 to 35 cigars. Humidor comes complete with a custom Humidifier and Hygrometer. See Humidor Care on site for set-up and care. Every box I build gets 6 to 8 coats of polyurethane oil finish that is "Hand Rubbed" to give them the best finish possible. This unique "One-of-a-Kind" Humidor is signed and dated. There is a full lift-out tray with storage below, with adjustable dividers. This Humidor will become a family heirloom to be passed on to generation to generation, I hope.
