The body is turned from Purpleheart. Purpleheart is characterized by its purple to reddish hue. This one is somewhere in between, almost a mahogany look. It has fine grain that resembles antique brush strokes. The beauty of the woood contrasting with the gold color hardware is nice. This pen uses a twist mechanism and a smooth writing Cross refill. Pen measures approximately 7/16 in wide by 5 1/2 inches long. Comes in a grey velour lined gift case.
