These hand Crafted Salt and Pepper Mills make a fine accent to a perfect table, or excellent gift to that special “chef" for the holidays. The seasoning mills are made from a large pinecone like nut called the Banksia Nut. The Banksia Nut is the fruit of a small tree which grows in the Jarrah Forest in the remote deserts of Western Australia. The Banksia nut becomes very hard and solid after years of drying which makes them ideal for turning.
To accent these mills exotic wood is added giving each piece more character and contributing to its uniqueness. The Salt Grinder uses sea salt or coarse salt and the Pepper Grinder uses peppercorns. The peppercorns will not come out of the holes, because the holes are too narrow in the center. The salt shaker has a plastic insert that keeps the salt in tact. Both come with high quality grinding mechanisms that will last a life time.
These Salt & Pepper Mills are not only handcrafted and functional; they are a piece of art with a story behind them.
