Handcrafted in Ken H.'s Florida Shop from a Rare Central American Hardwood Brosimum alicastrum commonly called Bloowood due to its striking red color and was used by the Maya civilization for its edible nut. It grows in the tropical forests of the Americas. The dense wood is used for decorative woodworking for its vividly colored scarlet wood also known as satine bloodwood. The wood has a fine texture and takes a high polish. The wood is very hard and has a tendency to blunt tools. The wood is used in decorative woodworking and woodturning under the name Satine. The Nature Conservancy considers this tree secure within its native range.
Stopper measures 5” in length overall x 1 ¼” wide. Wood portion is 2 ¼” long.
