This handcrafted bottle stopper is made from the wood called Padauk - A hardwood grown in central and West Africa. Hard, heavy, and strong with exceptional decay resistance and dimensional stability. The tree is reported to reach heights of 100 to 130 feet, with trunk diameters that are usually 24 to 48 inches, but may sometimes reach 60 inches. Trunks are usually straight and cylindrical, and are clear of branches to about 70 feet.
An excellent turning wood - used for fancy turnery such as knife and tool handles. Padauk is also prized for high end cabinets, furniture, carving, veneer, inlay, flooring, dyewood, joinery, dowels, shuttles, spindles, paddles, and boat building.
This stopper is fitted with an 18mm genuine Swarovski Crystal, absolutely brilliant!
Measures 5 ½” length overall x 1 1/4 “ wide and the wood portion is 1 7/8”.
