This is a 7"x5" Seahorse trinket box. This trinket box is made of maple. The entire box is then dyed sapphire blue, and the top is decorated with a pierce-carving of a seahorse. The entire box is finished with polyurethane, rubbed out to a soft-to-the-touch finish. The lid is attached with brass hinges, mortised into the sides for a smooth, evenly-closing lid.

The entire box was made by hand (well, ok, I use power tools, but no computers) and the inlay was cut by hand using a scroll-saw. The lid is attached with brass hinges, mortised into the sides for a smooth, evenly-closing lid. The finish is polyurethane, rubbed out to a smooth satin feel.
