African Black-wood or Mpingo (Dalbergia melanoxylon) is a flowering plant in the family Fabaceae, native to seasonally dry regions of Africa from Senegal east to Eritrea and south to the Transvaal in South Africa.
It is a small tree, reaching 4-15 m tall, with grey bark and spiny shoots. The leaves are deciduous in the dry season, alternate, 6-22 cm long, pinnate, with 6-9 alternately arranged leaflets. The flowers are white, produced in dense clusters. The fruit is a pod 3-7
Possible problems with wood inlays (sold by ANYONE making rings) if not properly maintained:
The wood could get damaged, expand when it gets wet, chips, becomes ugly and weathered or even crack, you will not like it.
The solution with this new ring design:
Replace the old inlay with a new inlay yourself very easily. No need for someone else to do it for you at great expense (shipping costs, time wasted traveling to have it shipped, high jewelry repair costs, time without a ring, etc.).
Due to a flood of ring orders ship time is up to 3 weeks to handcraft and ship each Custom Ring. (RUSH ORDERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR AN EXTRA FEE of $110.00).
