This is a 7"x5" Tree of Life trinket box. Maple and cherry box with an inlaid Tree of Life. The top's background plate is cherry, the circle is maple, and the tree itself is apple-wood. The apple comes from the tree that grew in my parents' back yard.

The entire box was made by hand (well, ok, I use power tools, but no computers) and the inlay was cut by hand using a scroll-saw. The lid is attached with brass hinges, mortised into the sides for a smooth, evenly-closing lid. The finish is polyurethane, rubbed out to a smooth satin feel.
