ONE PAIR OF GOBLETS
These hand crafted 17th century Irish traditional wedding goblets or loving cups, in Tansanian Pau-Rosa, are unique in design and rich due to choice of timber, they have become very popular and the ideal wedding gift. As the goblet and rings are fashioned from a single piece of wood, the question as to how this was done, stimulates interest and debate. These are made in hardwoods selected for their durability and straight grain.
Each pair is accompanied with a card bearing the following text:- "THESE HANDCRAFTED GOBLETS ARE BASED ON A 17TH CENTURY IRISH TRADITION REQUIRING THAT THE GOBLET AND THE TWO RINGS ARE FASHIONED FROM A SINGLE PIECE OF WOOD IN ORDER THAT THE RINGS REMAIN UNBROKEN. WHEN THE BRIDE AND GROOM TOAST EACH OTHER ON THEIR WEDDING DAY, THE UNBROKEN RINGS SYMBOLIZE STRENGTH,UNITY AND ETERNITY, INVOKING A POWERFUL BOND FOR THEIR FUTURE."
Demensions; 15cm (6ins)tall and 5cm (2ins)diameter
