It features hand cut dovetail corners thus insuring that it will maintain structural integrity for many generations. The scroll work Eagle soaring over a southwestern landscape is cut from Baltic birch plywood. It is inset in a Macore field which is surrounded by a ring of genuine crushed Turqouse. The interior is lined in forest green velvet. It measures 10 3/4" X 6 7/8" at the base. It is 5" high and inside, it is 3" deep.


ABOUT THE HINGE

There is more to this box than immediately meets the eye. The unique patented hinge system allows the cleat on the underside of the lid to engage a groove cut in the inside of the front member of the box. The box, once it is closed cannot be opened until the back of the lid is lifted and it is then pulled away from the front. To close the lid one merely lets the lid fall forward and then slides it forward until it closes.
