This square box is called, Aunt Sukeys Choice Oak box. It has the "Aunt Sukeys Choice quilt pattern" on the top of the box. The box is about 5" x 5" and 2 1/2" high on the outside. Inside it is 4" x 4" x 1 1/2". It is made using 120 pieces of wood cut in either a diamond or a triangle shape from different kinds of wood. The box is finished in its natural color with 5 or 6 coats of a clear wiping varnish, rubbed in by hand. The pieces are a bit over 3/16" thick, glued onto a Baltic Birch base, so they hold up much better than a thin veneer.
The type of wood used is listed on the bottom of the box from the center out. On this box the wood is "Satinwood" from Sri Lanka, "Walnut" from Missouri, "Wenge" from West Africa, "Purpleheart" from Central or South America, and “Oak” from Missouri.
The necklace you see in the open box does NOT come with it.
